Meta has quietly released a new stand-alone app called Forum for Facebook Groups users. The app is now available on the App Store, although the company has not made an official public announcement yet. The Forum aims to provide users with a more concentrated platform tailored for group interactions. Users will be able to access the discussion platform via a separate interface as opposed to looking for multiple groups within the larger Facebook application.
Meta Launches Forum App, Reddit-Like Experience for Facebook Groups
The application will enable better discovery of content by having the discussions organized according to users’ interests. In addition, users will be able to reach specific discussions with minimal efforts since there will be no need for searching for specific groups. The third characteristic of the application is its user-friendly experience.
Forum Focuses on Community Discussions
The application was originally noticed by social media consultant Matt Navarra before being discussed by technology websites. Meta says that Forum is “a new destination platform centered on deeper conversation and real discussion in Facebook Groups.” The interface of Forum has similarities with Reddit since it is very community-oriented and based on topic discussions. This development comes amid growing attention around the EU scam ads complaint involving major platforms.
Users can sign in using their Facebook account, allowing Forum to connect with their groups, profile, and activity automatically. Once logged in, users can choose topics they want to follow, and the app creates a feed based on conversations happening inside their groups. The platform also recommends discussions connected to users’ interests.
Forum allows people to post using nicknames, giving users more flexibility while still staying connected to Facebook Groups. However, Meta says anything shared on Forum will also appear inside the regular Facebook Groups on the Facebook app. Group administrators can also use moderation and management tools directly within Forum to manage discussions and community activity. This comes at a time when the industry is also seeing attention around the Tech Layoffs 2026 Update.

Meta Adds AI Features to the Forum App
AI technology has also been incorporated into Meta’s app through some innovative features. The first key feature offered by Meta is known as ‘Ask,’ which enables the user to pose a question and get responses that have been compiled from conversations in various groups. There is also an AI-assisted feature that acts as an aid to group administrators.
Meta has tried the Groups app in the past. The company had released an official Groups app back in 2014, but discontinued it two years later. Forum app is another product of Meta which is amongst the recent launches of the company as it continues to emphasize creating independent products and AI solutions. This strategy comes amid discussions around WhatsApp EU fine avoidance.
Another app launched by Meta recently is called Instants. This app lets you share vanishing photos with Instagram users only. Moreover, according to rumours, Meta will be releasing more apps in the coming days because of fast app development through AI. Meta Forum app can now be downloaded from the App Store. You can download it via this link and experience discussions like those on Reddit in your Facebook Groups. News source eTimes Pakistan.
