xAI has released a major update for Grok Voice. The update became available on July 6, 2026. It adds 21 new multilingual voices to the platform. These new voices join the five voices already available. Together, they give users and developers more voice options for different tasks.

The supported languages include English, Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Thai. Grok Voice also supports many other languages.
Each Voice Is Designed for a Different Job
The recently introduced Grok Multilingual Voices are made for different types of tasks. Some voices work well for customer support, while others are better for storytelling, advertising, education, or news commentary. This gives developers more choices when building AI applications. For instance, Carina is a voice that was created specifically for customer support and is characterized by her soothing and empathic manner of talking. Luna is created specifically for natural conversations. In addition, developers can manage voice delivery by applying basic speech tags such as [pause], [whisper], or [emphasis].
Original Grok Voices Also Get Better
Not only has xAI introduced new voices, but it has even enhanced the initial five voices. The company has trained Ara, Eve, Leo, Rex, and Sal using the latest AI model. The company claims that these voices now have improved pacing, better phrasing, and emphasis in conversations. Such enhancements make these voices sound more human. The Voice Agent API provides real-time conversations using voice with minimum latency. Meanwhile, the Text to Speech API enables developers to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) voices into websites, applications, and other software programs. The recently launched Grok Voice Agent Builder is targeted at people who would prefer not to code. It makes it possible for individuals to build AI voice agents just by specifying their behaviour.
Voice Cloning and Fast AI Conversations
The Grok Voice Agent Builder was introduced on July 1, 2026. Its pricing is set at $0.05 per minute. The voices are also included in the price package. As mentioned by xAI, users will be able to develop their voice agent within just two minutes through simple instruction creation and adding their knowledge or tools.

Voice cloning is also supported in this platform. The development of the custom voice of an AI can be done within just one minute of audio recording. This custom voice will apply for use in both the Text to Speech API and the the Voice Agent API. xAI has also mentioned that their product ranks number one on the Big Bench Audio benchmark.
