iOS 27 public beta will be launched in July, according to information from Apple. As of now, Apple is yet to reveal the exact date when the public beta will be officially released, but it is estimated that the software will likely be rolled out mid-July. In most cases, Apple launches its public beta within a week from its third developer beta release. Hence, the iOS 27 may come out as early as July 13 or shortly thereafter.

Release Dates of Previous Beta Versions

Here is a list of the dates for release of previous beta versions:

  • 2025 iOS 26 – July 24, 2025
  • 2024 iOS 18 – July 15, 2024
  • 2023 iOS 17 – July 12, 2023
  • 2022 iOS 16 – July 11, 2022

Apple last year launched the public beta following its fourth developer beta, rather than its third. But then again, this was not the normal sequence. That is why there is hope for the launch of the iOS 27 public beta sometime around mid-July.

New Features Coming in iOS 27

One of the most important features introduced by iOS 27 is Siri AI. This technology equips Siri with more advanced AI capabilities for completing various user’s tasks. Siri AI will only function on devices such as iPhone 15 Pro and above, because it uses Apple Intelligence. Moreover, Apple introduced new improvements regarding Liquid Glass technology. Now, the design of the phone can be changed through the design slider option.

Several improvements that enhance the efficiency of applications have been introduced, and this will ensure that the user will be able to launch the apps in no time, increasing the speed of the iPhone. The most commonly used applications from the Apple App Store, including Messages, Notes, Photos, Calendar, Maps, Music, Safari, and many others are also getting their upgrades. Furthermore, iOS 27 offers several updates to the users of CarPlay and AirPods. Lastly, Apple enhanced its children protection policy, and the iOS 27 Public Beta Available this month: How to Get Your iPhone Ready introduces this information.

Which iPhones Can Get iOS 27?

The iOS 27 version is compatible with the iPhone 11 and above devices. This means that, should your iPhone have the capability to update to the iOS 26.5.2 Security Update, it will be capable of updating to the iOS 27 as well. It is however worth noting that not all features are enabled for all the devices as there are certain advanced capabilities such as Apple Intelligence and Siri AI which are only available in the iPhone 15 Pro and above. Siri AI is also based on a waiting list, hence after updating to the iOS 27, you will need to visit the settings > Siri and sign up to the waiting list.

How to Install the iOS 27 Public Beta

Once the public beta will become available, everyone will be able to install it for free using the following easy-to-follow steps:

  1. Go to beta.apple.com.
  2. Launch Settings on your iPhone.
  3. Tap General and then go to Software Update.
  4. Tap on Beta Updates.
  • Tap on iOS 27 Public Beta and then tap Install.
  • If the update is not available for download, restart your phone once.

As advised by Apple, prior to the installation of the beta, one should make a complete backup of the data stored on their iPhone because there might be bugs present in the beta, and apps might malfunction. Bugs can affect CarPlay and other features as well. Ideally, one should test the beta on another iPhone and not on their primary phone.

iOS 27 public beta will be released around mid-July providing iPhone owners with the opportunity to get acquainted with Apple’s newest software. It is going to include improvements like Siri AI, design updates, better performance, updated apps, CarPlay, and AirPods. Though you will get to test all these features ahead of the official release of the software in September, there may still be bugs present in the beta version. News source eTimes Pakistan
