Apple users in Pakistan can now use 5G internet on supported iPhones. This service is now active on Zong and Jazz networks across selected coverage areas in the country. Users with compatible devices can now experience faster mobile internet where 5G is available.
iPhone 5G is Officially Live in Pakistan on Zong & Jazz Networks
This is an important step for mobile connectivity in Pakistan because many reports suggested that iPhone 5G support would arrive much later. However, the service has now started earlier than expected through official network activation. This early launch, along with support for Jazz 5G Samsung phones, shows that telecom companies are moving quickly to improve next-generation internet services for users.
How 5G Works on iPhones
In the past, simply having a 5G-supported phone was not enough to access the 5G network in Pakistan. Apple manages 5G activation through special carrier settings, which means mobile operators must officially enable it for iPhone users.
Because of this system, users were unable to activate 5G using unofficial methods such as VPN tricks or jailbreaking their devices. These methods did not work because network-level approval was required from Apple and telecom companies. Now, with official support from mobile networks like Zong and Jazz, 5G is properly activated on supported iPhones, allowing users to access faster internet where coverage is available.

Zong 5G
Zong users need to install the iOS 26.5 Public Beta to access 5G on supported iPhones. After installing, they also need to join Apple’s Beta Software Program and manually enable 5G from their device settings by selecting “5G Auto” or “5G On.” The company has already tested strong performance in active coverage areas, with speeds recorded between 244 Mbps and 290 Mbps. These results show improved mobile internet performance in supported locations. Zong has launched 5G services in more than 16 cities so far and is planning a major expansion. The company aims to extend its network to over 1,000 sites by 2026, increasing coverage across Pakistan.
Jazz 5G
Jazz has also activated 5G support for iPhones running the latest iOS version, allowing users to access faster internet where coverage is available. The company is currently operating around 180 test 5G sites in major cities across Pakistan. These sites are being used to expand and improve the overall 5G network performance. Users need to manually enable 5G on their devices when they enter a supported coverage area. This ensures the phone connects to the available 5G network properly. In addition to iPhones, Jazz has also started offering 5G support for selected Samsung Galaxy devices, expanding its testing across different smartphone brands.

Pakistan’s 5G Expansion Plan
This progress came after Pakistan’s telecom regulator conducted a major spectrum auction in March 2026 to support next-generation mobile services, including 5G. During the auction, 480 MHz spectrum was sold for around $507 million, marking an important step for telecom expansion despite recent concerns over the Pakistan telecom outage linked to electricity shortages.
Major telecom operators including Jazz, Zong, and Ufone secured portions of this spectrum. These new frequency bands will be used for future 5G expansion and improved mobile network services across Pakistan. iPhone 5G is now officially working in Pakistan through Zong and Jazz networks. Users can enjoy faster internet in supported areas. This marks a big step forward for Pakistan’s mobile internet and digital growth. News source eTimes Pakistan.
